Why should you help us make apple pies on Saturday, November 21st?
1) You’ll help raise money for the Adrian Schools music programs. 2) You’ll earn money for your own music student’s account. 3) You’ll help area families have a yummier Thanksgiving meal. 4) You’ll enjoy the fun and fellowship of this annual tradition. 5) You don’t have to rake leaves if you’re makin’ pies. Ready to sign up? Click here to use Google Forms. You can also complete and return the volunteer sheet your student brought home, or you can contact Mrs. Powers at [email protected]. So many options, but so little time! Volunteer today, and join us at the Adrian High School cafeteria on Saturday, November 21st. We’ll be peeling and cutting apples and putting pies together from 7am to about 2pm. Pies must be ordered in advance. You can pick them up between 2pm and 4pm in the high school cafeteria. Each pie costs $10, but will have approximately $11 worth of flavor packed into it, so you may make a little bread off this deal. Many members of the Adrian Music Boosters give their Friday nights each fall to sell hot dogs and hot chocolate to AHS football fans. The profits go to support the music programs in our city's schools. Take a look at this quick video below. Look like fun? If so, join us in the stand next season, or contact the Boosters about other volunteer opportunities. And thank you in advance. In part two of our interview with the Director of Bands, Dan Kesterke talks about the many benefits and rewards of participating in marching band competitions and how we as a community can help create an even stronger music program. Any idea how many hours the Adrian High School Marching Band puts into preparing for marching band competitions each year? Director of Bands Dan Kesterke talks about that and the value of all that work in this quick interview. Here are a few highlights from the AHS Marching Band's 2015 Homecoming performances. Watch for members of the AHS Choirs, who were featured in the pre-game show. The Marching Maples provided the pre-game and halftime entertainment for the AHS Homecoming game, held this year on October 16th. Members of the AHS choirs also joined in to sing "Fair Adrian" and the Star-Spangled Banner. Click on any photo to enlarge it.
